Hojicha made using the stalks that remain when processing tencha into matcha.
Multiple kind of Matcha, such as Asahi and Samidori, which are used for Uji matcha, are mixed. The roasting method is adjusted according to the variety, resulting in a Hojicha with a mix of thick and thin stalks, giving it a light white tea color.
This is a product that combines both umami and freshness.

In the village of Gokashō, Uji City, considered the birthplace of Uji tea, Furukawa Seicha cultivates tea using Uji's traditional cultivation methods, such as 'oishita cultivation' (covered cultivation) and 'shizen-shitate' (natural shaping). They are dedicated to harvesting and processing only the first flush (ichibancha) and only by hand-picking.
Furukawa Seicha is renowned for its oishita cultivation, and in recent years, they have also been focusing on organic farming, particularly for products aimed at the European and American markets. This tea garden is widely loved by matcha enthusiasts and tea ceremony practitioners both domestically and internationally.
